As an assemblage sculptor using found materials, I liberate objects from their discarded, liminal condition. The work is in revolving dialogue with my lived and perceived experiences, both made ultimately malleable due to the faulty and protective nature of memory. I use gesture and scale to reach a state of subtle, yet unambiguous abstraction. The forms address many negotiations, including how object mass relates to body mass, and how color, object, and space trigger memory. These rejected materials, with their inherent historicity, are precariously arranged in both dangerous and elegant configurations. Many of the works translate to the size of the (some) body (ies), and are comprised of materials which relate to architecture and domestic and industrial spaces.
